Why Choose Teak Wood Patio Furniture?

Extending your home into the garden is becoming the trend whether it be to find some solace on a Sunday morning reading the papers whilst having breakfast, spending more time with the kids when they play out, or entertaining guests by way of a garden party or BBQ. It can become an expensive past time, what with decking, garden furniture, outdoor patio heaters and garden lighting. Buying teak furniture for your patio would be no exception to this as teak is one of the most expensive wood choices on the market, however below are a few reasons why after much research I decided to buy teak wood patio furniture.

Teak is renowned for its resistance to extreme weather conditions and is possibly the most durable wood available, meaning that very little maintenance is required. Teak even after it has been felled retains its natural oils deep within the grains of the wood and as such is naturally resistant to dry rot and pests. Teak will over time turn grey in color which is just as beautiful as its natural honey color, preference will be a personal choice however for those preferring the natural color it can very easily be restored at very little cost.

Because of its natural durability the furniture does not need to be stowed away indoors when weather conditions are harsh which can become problematic for people, like myself, that have linited storage space.

Teak truly is a naturally elegant wood type and whether it be the chic urban design you prefer or a more countrified rustic look you will have no problems finding the style you require with this beautiful wood.

I did have to save for a couple of months to buy my teak wood patio furniture set however I believe it was money well spent because of its durability it will last for decades to come and will never lose its style or elegance.

Garden Shed Plans for You

Metal garden shed

A traditional metal garden shed

A garden shed is not so hard to build. You can permanently build a garden shed for your garden. You do not have to consult an architect or a drafter to draw your own garden shed plans. You need concentration, garden shed kits and time to draft your simple garden shed plans.

The first thing you should take into consideration is the shape. The two shapes that are commonly used are Apex and Pent. In the Apex shape the roof comes to a point in the middle. In the Pent shape, the roof slopes from one high end to another low end and has the windows and doors on the high side. The next thing to consider is to decide on the materials. The materials that one can use are of three types: metal, wood and plastic. Of these three materials, wood is the best, because it will give it a more natural look than when you build using metal or plastic. Try to find wood that has been treated with preservative which has been forced into the wood, because it is more effective than paint as paint wears off with time. Now choose your location and buy all the materials you need as detailed in your shed plan. You could even consider getting these materials pre cut, this will cost a little more but save loads of time. Level the ground and prepare to lay the foundations for your new shed. After that you have to build the walls and then the roof. The last two steps are applying the shingles for the roof then treating the wood. In this way you may build a garden shed of your own.

Building your own shed is very simple. Even if your carpentry skills are limited you may build it by following a set of instructions and good garden shed kits.
